Harry is back for the final battle to destroy Lord Voldemort in the epic franchise in part 2

Score
6.5/10

After the release of the firs Deathly Hallows from the Harry Potter, I was a bit let down by the game, but after seeing the second release, I was happy with the changes done to have a great ending in the Harry Potter Saga. EA release the final battle of our hero and you are to embark into some great action.

Luckily for most of the players, the game developers took a third person action view and the game consists of much more action moments not like its predecessor. The wand has been transformed into a gun and you’re the soldier wielding it. Switching between spells and hiding between cover sets the atmosphere for a good old magic deathmatch. So the gameplay is more fun than the first one thou it still a bit linear since it depends solely on the series storyline. Thou you will mostly play as Harry Potter, you will get to play some parts of the game as some of the key characters in the storyline.

You, Harry Potter come in action. To finally destroy Lord Voldemort you must first destroy all the Horcuxes which basically are the pieces that contain Voldemort’s soul. From the first cutscene i.e. after the game starts a nifty video shows Lord Voldemort who has finally got his hands on the powerful Elder Wand from Albus Dumbledore’s grave. We find Severus Snape to be the new headmaster at Hogwart’s. Things of course get a little more hairy for Harry.

You start off talking to Griphook asking for guidance inside the Gringotts Bank and making your way into one of the vaults, and asking for the sword of Gryffindor as his payback. Along with the invisibility cloak you and Griphook make your way to the Lestrange vault to get the Horcux. With the help of Hermione and Ron disguised as Lestrange and with the power of the Imperia spell you start your way to the vault. After being washed from your magic spells, your journey will start into the vault’s caves.

As regards to graphics, the game looks pretty nice and detailed with realistic characters’ facial and body but during conversations the lip-synching looked a bit stiff and robotic. On the other hand, the sound effects and the music are really great being a great experience as the movies. The game feels good and the fans of the series will like playing it… unfortunately after some time the level design will look a bit simple and it’s very predictable on what will happen. As explained before, the game entirely focuses on action and with Harry’s main weapon being his wand; the shooting is very entertaining with each spell being unique in look and functionality. Having some of the spells like Impedementia shooting a little rocket, Petrificus being a sniper rifle and Expulso as a machine gun… with the magical effect, it will make a great effect. You will also get the final power for Harry which is Apparate that gives you the power to teleport between covers… shame it is only near the end of the game.

Conclusion

The graphics and music make the game look great and the effect of the shooting part was a great experience. The idea towards an only action game was a good idea but by including some small puzzle parts it would make the game less boring. The game will give a 5 hour gameplay which will get the fans rolled up in some good action moments, especially the shooting part.
