As a long time fan of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom of Hearts series I am very excited Square Enix is publishing a console action-adventure game on a new IP

Square Enix released a new trailer in what could be an exciting and popular gaming franchise for the company NIER. The recent press release leaves a little to be desired, but hopefully more information will be released on the official NIER website soon.

Feel the heat of battle as Square Enix unleashes a brand new trailer for its highly anticipated action adventure game, NIER for PS3 and Xbox 360. Also check out a slew of new screenshots and beautiful artwork.

Nothing is as it seems in Square Enix's latest action adventure game, set in a crumbling world plagued by disease and dark, unrecognizable creatures. Players assume the role of the unyielding protagonist, NIER, resolute in his quest to discover a cure for his daughter, who is infected with the Black Scawl virus. With powerful allies and a mysterious book, NIER encounters things that will confound even the mightiest of warriors. With NIER, experience seamless in-battle cinematics and explore hauntingly familiar lands, intense action-packed battles, and storytelling like only Square Enix can do.

NIER
Developer: cavia, Inc.
Publisher: Square Enix
Platforms: PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system / Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft
Genre: Action-Adventure

As a long time fan of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom of Hearts gaming franchises I am very excited Square Enix is publishing a console action-adventure game on a new IP. Watching the NIER trailer I couldn't help but think the game appears to be artistically influenced by Square Enix's highly successful Full Metal Alchemist manga series, albeit with a darker and more sinister world design similar to Batman: Arkham Asylum.
